# CrispDemo

> CrispDemo is a Mac app that turns screen recordings and screenshots of your app into a finished product video. Your coding agent makes it, on your own Mac.

For Mac with Apple silicon. No public download yet. CrispDemo is made by [helpful bits GmbH](https://helpfulbits.com), Grünwald (Munich), Germany.

CrispDemo is a Mac app that turns screen recordings and screenshots of your app into a finished product video. Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode builds the story, CrispDemo adds the voice and music, and your Mac renders a look for each place you post.

## CrispDemo launch video

A 45-second launch video made in CrispDemo from screen recordings of PlanToCode. It shows the app at work: a coding agent rebuilds each screen, a voice and music are added, and each place gets its own cut. [MP4](https://crispdemo.com/videos/crispdemo-launch-16x9.mp4)

Narration: "PlanToCode's launch video. Made in CrispDemo, from app recordings. Recordings and a brief go in. Your coding agent rebuilds each screen, checks it against the recording, state by state. A voice, then music. TikTok, LinkedIn: each gets its cut. A review flags fixes. In the send box, one message changes it. Export renders every look. Early access at crispdemo.com."

## Who it is for

CrispDemo is for people who build their own app on a Mac with a coding agent (Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode) and need a video for each launch or release, with no video editor on the team.

You built the app with a coding agent, and the release is ready. Your landing page, LinkedIn and TikTok each want a video in a different shape, and all you have is a raw screen recording. CrispDemo hands that recording to the agent you already use, and you get a finished video for each of those places.

- [Product demo video](https://crispdemo.com/product-demo-video): Someone asks what your app does, and the best thing you can send is a silent three-minute screen recording with text too small to read on a phone.
- [Product launch video](https://crispdemo.com/product-launch-video): The release is merged and the launch post is written. The video slot on your landing page is still empty, and all you have is a raw recording of you clicking through the app.
- [App Store preview video](https://crispdemo.com/app-store-preview-video): Your App Store page has screenshots and an empty App Previews slot. You have a two-minute screen recording from your iPhone and no time to learn a video editor.
- [Video with Claude Code or Codex](https://crispdemo.com/claude-code-video): Your coding agent wrote the feature, and the session is still open. Now the announcement needs a video, and the only material is a screen recording on your desktop.
- [Screenshots to video](https://crispdemo.com/screenshots-to-video): You have six screenshots of the new build and no recording. The post goes out today.

## From first recording to final cut.

Bring the screens. Shape the story. Stay in control of the details.

1. **Add your screens.** Drop in screen recordings or screenshots of your app, use Record screen, or let your coding agent record the app itself. Your original files are never changed.
2. **Say what viewers should take away.** Write one or two sentences, for example: show how a customer shares a release with their team, in under 30 seconds. Then pick where it will be posted.
3. **Your coding agent makes the video.** Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode reads frames from your recordings, rebuilds each screen as HTML so it stays sharp at any size, checks it against the recording, writes the script and directs the story. You follow each step in the Studio chat. CrispDemo adds the voice and music, renders every look on your Mac, and Gemini reviews the finished video.
4. **Refine it and export.** Ask your coding agent for changes in plain words, for the whole video or one scene. Make a separate version when one platform needs a different cut, then export the files.

## One story. Every place you post.

The right frame, the right sound, and room to make it yours.

### A look for each place you post

Each look shows how the video will appear there, with the right shape and captions.

- 16:9: YouTube, X, Website embed
- 9:16: TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Stories
- 4:5: LinkedIn, Instagram feed

### Narration and music

Choose from 8 Gemini voices and play a sample of each before you pick. Narration can be in English, German, French or Spanish. Google's Lyria composes music for the video from your coding agent's brief, or pick a built-in track.

### Separate versions

Keep the main video and make a separate version when a platform needs something different, like a 15-second TikTok cut that opens on the result.

### A Gemini review of the finished video

Gemini watches and listens to the rendered video and lists what to fix: the opening, legibility, framing, captions and more. Fix this sends a finding to your coding agent.

## Choose your coding agent

Set up Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode the first time you open CrispDemo, and choose the agent for each video. The agent runs on your Mac with CrispDemo's tools: it rebuilds your screens, writes the script, directs the video and answers your change requests in the Studio chat.

- **Claude Code.** Needs a paid Claude plan or a Console account.
- **Codex.** Sign in with ChatGPT Plus or higher.
- **OpenCode.** Works with free models and no account. Free models may use what you send them to improve the model; connect your own provider to avoid that.

CrispDemo helps you install and sign in to the agent you pick.

## Use an account, or your own Gemini key

Both give you the same Studio and cover the voice, the music and the Gemini review. The difference is who bills you. Your coding agent's work runs on your own plan with it.

### CrispDemo account

Sign in and pay per use from your CrispDemo balance. Each video has a spending limit, $2.00 unless you change it, and your coding agent asks before it goes past it.

- New accounts start with $2.00 in free credits, valid for 180 days.
- Includes the video library.

Processing fee, taken from each top-up:

- Below $12: 20%
- From $12: 10%
- From $99: 5%

Top-ups start at $3.

### Your own Gemini key

Paste a Gemini key and work without an account. The voice, music and review are charged to your Google account.

- No CrispDemo account or balance.
- The key is kept in your computer's secure storage.
- The video library needs an account.

## Questions

### Who is CrispDemo for?

People who build their own app on a Mac with a coding agent and need a video for a launch, a release or a how-to. You say what the video should show and ask for changes in plain words.

### What do I need to start?

A Mac with Apple silicon, a coding agent (Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode) and a sentence about what the video should show. Add screen recordings or screenshots of your app, record your screen in CrispDemo, or let the agent record the app. For the voice, music and review, sign in to a CrispDemo account or paste your own Gemini key.

### Can Claude Code or Codex make the video?

Yes. Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode does the work inside CrispDemo: it reads frames from your recordings, rebuilds the screens as HTML, writes the script, directs the story and answers your change requests in the Studio chat. You need one of the three. CrispDemo helps you install and sign in to the one you pick, and OpenCode works with free models and no account.

### Can I make a video from screenshots only?

Yes. A video can use screenshots, screen recordings or both. Use one screenshot for each screen you want to show.

### How long does a first draft take?

In our own test runs with Claude Code, the first draft of a 20 to 40 second video took 7 to 16 minutes. You follow each step in the Studio chat while the agent works.

### How long can a video be?

A promo video is planned at 15 to 60 seconds and a how-to video at 1 to 5 minutes. Some looks have their own limit: 30 seconds for an App Store iPhone preview, 60 seconds for an Instagram Story, 140 seconds on X and 3 minutes for a YouTube Short.

### Which files do I get?

An MP4 at 30 frames a second for each look you export: 1920 by 1080 for YouTube, X and a website, 1080 by 1920 for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and Stories, and 1080 by 1350 for LinkedIn and the Instagram feed. You can also save captions (.vtt and .srt), a chapter list and a transcript next to each video.

### Can it make an App Store app preview?

There is an App Store iPhone look: 886 by 1920 pixels and at most 30 seconds. Check the exported video against the App Store Connect requirements before you upload it.

### Can I make a how-to video?

Yes. Pick How-to video when you start a new video: one task, step by step, in 1 to 5 minutes, with chapters. The export can save captions, a chapter list and a transcript next to the video.

### What happens to my recordings?

Your coding agent reads the screenshots, recordings and folders you attach, on your Mac; attaching a file is your go-ahead, and after you remove it, the agent no longer reads it. The agent sends what it reads to its own model provider, under your account with it. Google gets the narration text, the music brief and the finished video, never your original recordings. Your original files are never changed.

### Why rebuild the screens instead of cutting the recording?

Your coding agent rebuilds each screen as HTML, so it is sharp at every size and the same story can be framed for a wide YouTube video and a vertical TikTok without blurry crops. The agent checks each rebuilt screen against your recording, and you can compare them yourself.

### What does it cost?

Your coding agent's work runs on your own plan with it. The voice, the music and the Gemini review are paid per use: from your CrispDemo balance, where new accounts start with $2.00 in free credits, or charged to your Google account when you use your own Gemini key. Rendering on your Mac is free. Each video has a spending limit, $2.00 unless you change it in Settings, and your coding agent asks before it goes past it.

### Which computers does it run on?

Macs with Apple silicon. It's a desktop app: your original recordings stay where they are on your Mac, and the video is rendered on your Mac.

### Can I download it now?

Not yet. CrispDemo is in early access for Mac (Apple silicon), and there is no public download. Ask for early access and we'll tell you when you can try it.
