Make an App Store preview video from a screen recording.

Your App Store page has screenshots and an empty App Previews slot. You have a two-minute screen recording from your iPhone and no time to learn a video editor.

CrispDemo has an App Store iPhone look: a portrait video of 886 by 1920 pixels, at most 30 seconds long. Your coding agent builds it from your recording, and your Mac renders the file.

For Mac with Apple silicon. No public download yet.

How to make an App Store preview video.

Four steps in CrispDemo, from the iPhone recording to the MP4.

  1. Add a recording of your iPhone app

Drop in the portrait screen recording from your iPhone as a MOV or MP4 file, or screenshots of the app. A video can use up to 12 files. Your original files are never changed.

The create composer with two screen recordings and a screenshot attached, a one-sentence brief, the Create video button, the estimate for the voice, music and Gemini review, and the checkbox that lets your coding agent read the files.
  2. Pick the App Store look

Under Where will this video be posted?, pick App Store. The look is 886 by 1920 pixels at 30 frames a second, and a video for it can be at most 30 seconds long.

The Where will this video be posted? dialog showing phone previews for YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  3. Ask for one flow in 15 to 30 seconds

Your coding agent rebuilds the screens from your recording and writes the story. The App Store look shows your app's screen whole, with no device frame and no camera moves.

Claude Code making the first draft from two screen recordings and a screenshot: the brief, then its steps building the Publish release screen, comparing it with the recording and building the Notifications settings screen.
  4. Check the export, then upload it yourself

Export the MP4 and check it against the App Store Connect requirements before you upload it. CrispDemo does not upload to App Store Connect.

The Export video dialog with YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn chosen, each rendered at its own size, such as 1920x1080 for YouTube and 1080x1920 for TikTok.

Before you upload.

A review of the finished video, and the same story for your other channels.

A Gemini review of the finished video

Gemini watches and listens to the rendered video and lists what to fix: the opening, legibility, framing, captions and more.

The Gemini review scored 7 out of 10, with a timed pacing fix, a Fix this button and findings to consider.

The same story for TikTok, Reels and Shorts

Add a vertical look for each feed, or make a separate version when one of them needs a different cut.

The version selector with the main version and a TikTok version open, and that version's TikTok and LinkedIn looks, each 15 seconds long.

Questions

Which file does the App Store look export?

A portrait MP4 of 886 by 1920 pixels, with H.264 video at 30 frames a second and AAC sound. A video for this look can be at most 30 seconds long.

Does it make iPad or landscape previews?

No. The App Store look is for iPhone, in portrait.

Will App Store Connect accept the video?

CrispDemo does not check the video against Apple's rules, and we have not uploaded an export to App Store Connect ourselves. The video shows screens that your coding agent rebuilt from your recording, so compare them with your app and check the export against the App Store Connect requirements before you upload it.

Can I use the screen recording from my iPhone?

Yes. Add the MOV or MP4 file. A portrait recording is shown whole inside the 886 by 1920 frame.

Give your app a proper introduction.
